On the first day of school, we got to know many friendly local Kiwis from New Zealand and met our amiable principal and the beautiful class teacher, Miss Bex. The school organized a special opening ceremony for us, and as we watched our new friends performing the Maori war dance on the stage, I felt full of anticipation for the upcoming study abroad experience.

The long-awaited study trip allowed me to experience the differences between New Zealand and Chinese education. New Zealand schools place a greater emphasis on our overall development. Teachers rarely assign homework, and during classes, they encourage us to use our creativity, imagination, practical skills, and communication abilities. I enjoy this teaching approach, and I've had an enjoyable time getting along with my new friends.

After coming to New Zealand, I've noticed that the students here have incredibly strong hands-on skills. We have classes like crafts, woodworking, experiments, baking, and more. My favorite is baking class, where we make cakes together. Additionally, I've found that the teachers have a very broad knowledge base; one teacher can teach multiple subjects and easily answer all our curious and unusual questions.

The school assigned each of us a school buddy, and my buddy is a lovely Kiwi girl. She teaches me local New Zealand slang and we often go for walks and chat together. We had a great time together. Before leaving for home, we exchanged contact information, and we've made a pact to stay in touch regularly in the future!
